Job Description: General Manager, Commercial Appliance Repair

Title: General Manager – Commercial Appliance Repair (NY)

Reports to: Owner / CEO

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead operations across service, installation, and parts departments, ensuring high-quality, on-time service delivery.
  • Oversee financial management: budgeting, P&L responsibility, pricing, cost control, and profitability analysis.
  • Supervise and mentor service managers, dispatch staff, technicians, and support personnel.
  • Drive commercial growth: customer acquisition, upselling service contracts, and maintaining client relationships.
  • Implement quality control, safety standards, and compliance with New York regulations.
  • Develop and execute operational KPIs: service call volume, response times, first-time fix rate, customer satisfaction, and revenue targets.
  • Hire, develop, and retain high-performing teams; manage performance evaluations and training pathways.
Required Qualifications

  • 5–7+ years in service operations or general management; preferably with experience in commercial appliance repair, HVAC, or equipment service.
  • Proven track record managing P&L and growth initiatives.
  • Strong leadership, people management, and customer-facing communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with financial acumen and strategic planning experience.
  • Trade/safety certifications (e.g., OSHA) or industry-specific licenses a plus.
Working Conditions

  • Hybrid role: blend of field visits, onsite supervision, and office administration.
  • Availability to respond to operational issues or emergencies after hours if needed.
  • Must adhere to New York State employment standards; note that executive roles are exempt from overtime requirements, but minimum weekly salary thresholds must be met

Flexible work from home options available.

Compensation: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
